Tired the the same old boring toothpaste? Looking for fluoride-free products? You have got to check out Dr. Sharp's Toothpaste and Mouth Wash. Dr. Sharp's fluoride-free natural toothpastes and mouthwash offer a healthy alternative to fluoride products by combining natural and certified organic botanicals. My family was lucky enough to received some products to review.
Finding a good toothpaste at the grocery store is always an
undertaking and sadly always involves a compromise. So, I was so
happy when I heard about Dr. Sharp toothpaste. They are free of
flouride, paraben, sodium lauryl sulfate, alcohol, and are vegan,
cruelty free and contain certified organic botanicals. Pretty amazing,
right?
Because I believe in healthy teeth and gums, I periodically review oral care products. I enjoy getting to see just what is being offered and because I have a toddler I love to see what is out there for her as well. She is VERY nervous when it comes to doctors and we have yet to visit the dentist. So, I take time with her each night flossing, brushing and counting her teeth. :) She loves it (so far) and it gives us some special time together. Hopefully by the time I take her to the dentist her teeth will be healthy and looking great too.
When I went on an internet search the other day for "Organic Toothpaste" I found a really neat company. Today I am going to introduce you to Dr. Sharp Dentistry...a company with fluoride-free oral care company that was founded by an aesthetic dentist named Dr. Bruno Sharp.
This one’s for all the hot mamas (and pops!) out there that are obsessed with giving their little one the most loving, healthy, abundant childhood imaginable (read: don’t make me waste time sifting through the thousands of “eco” products on the market, i want to spend my time actuallybeing with my babe). The ecofabulous baby and young child guide is broken down into four parts, starting with care and following with clothing, toys and gear. We’ve searched high and low to bring you our top picks for products that are not only safe and healthy for your loved ones and the planet, but are just as effective and enjoyable (often even more so!) than their conventional counterparts.
How would you feel if at your next dental visit, your dentist mentioned that you’d gained weight?
It could happen: In a new study, a University of North Carolina researcher found that half the dentists surveyed would like to help their patients with their weight as well as their dental healt
Dr. Sharp’s 100 percent vegan, botanical toothpaste is the only commercial toothpaste brand developed by a dentist. Fluoride free (fluoride is a no-no for young kids), it’s made with ingredients like sage and bambusa stem. Plus, the strawberry cream flavor scores big with little brushers.
After conducting nearly a decade of extensive research, Dr. Bruno Sharp discovered that an excess of fluoride is linked to a wide range of hazardous health concerns.
Armed with this information, Dr. Sharp developed a new oral care line that is consistent with his philosophy of creating products that are fluoride-free, non toxic,
sustainable and safe to swallow as none of his formulations contain the potentially harmful ingredients most commonly found in traditional brands such as fluoride, SLS, paraben and alcohol. Dr. Sharp’s oral care line consists of a fresh mint whitening toothpaste, green tea whitening toothpaste, strawberry cream toothpaste especially formulated for kids, and an alcohol-free natural mouthwash.
Guess which all-natural ingredients whiten chompers?
March 4, 2011
Most whitening toothpastes leave our sensitive teeth tingling in pain.
Not so with all-natural Dr. Sharp products, which brighten teeth without harsh, enamel-stripping ingredients. Until recently, we could only find the vegan, stevia-sweetened brand at a few dentists' offices around LA. But now, it's available at Venice's Detox Market, the wellness pop-up that has gone permanent.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen the phrase “Fountain of Youth” paired with “teeth.” Ever. Until recently, that is, when I met Miami-based smile expert Dr. Bruno Sharp. At his office, a great smile is just as important as having a line-free face in the quest to find that elusive youth-filled fount. So while we’re schooled from the time we’re young to take care of our teeth (lest they cause incredible pain and agony – physically and financially!), when was the last time your teeth hit the same measure as your crow’s feet in the quest for eternal youth?
Frankly, I can’t say myself that I’d ever put them in the same category.

The Great Fluoride Debate
January 17, 2010
The addition of fluoride in America's water supply mid-century may have given us the collective jump on pearly whites that people in the British Isles seem to be lacking. But just because our teeth are cavity-free doesn't mean fluoride is good for us to ingest. In fact many people feel it's downright toxic. Even the FDA is reducing the level deemed safe' for fluoride exposure. According to the Douglass report, and local Miami dentist Dr. Sharp, it was a toxic waste approved for use as rat poison and insecticide. Putting the massive doses in local water supplies was seen as a solution in getting rid of it. Dr. Sharp took matters into his own hands, creating his own line of fluoride-free toothpaste. It's delicious and come in Green Tea flavor, Whitening Mint and a kids Strawberry flavor.
Fluoride is actually toxic, and could cause health problems, such as thyroid issues, osteoporosis and some types of cancer. In fact, fluoride is considered to be one of the Top 10 household toxins! Fluoridated water has been tied to fluorosis, i.e. brown mottling of teeth.

My first brush with dental care involved a stand-up Crest Kids bottle with a star-shaped dispenser. And I’ve been a Crest loyalist ever since then — up until a few weeks ago. Which means that more than 20,000 times over the course of my life, I’ve willingly put a chemical inside my mouth that many people consider toxic. That’s right, I’m talking about fluoride.

Tom's of Maine Toothpaste: Should Sodium Laurel Sulfate Be an Ingredient In "Natural Care"?
November 9, 2010
We spend a lot of time thinking about the products we put on our face, hair, and skin, but when it comes to oral care, we tend not to experiment much: A toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss are the only requisite elements of personal hygiene of the toothy variety.
Thing: Dr. Sharp’s new eco-friendly, fluoride-free line of toothpastes and mouthwashes cleans and whitens your teeth without harsh, potentially harmful chemicals.
Why We Dig It: Since fluoride has been linked to a slew of
potential health risks and few health benefits, this toothpaste offers an all-natural alternative to fighting tooth decay, cavities and gum disease. And the pastes
come in tasty flavors like fresh mint, green tea and strawberry cream (specially formulated for kids).
The Samurai Shopper is a master in the civil arts of social encounters, a mannerly person and a lively guest, trading effortless bons mots with newcomers, outsiders, friends and frenemies. But at some point during such festivities, an awkward situation arises. I enter my host’s bathroom for a quick freshening of hands or to minister to an urgent function. There is nothing to do but look around the bathroom, noting fixtures, shower curtains, rugs. Some décor is predictably matchy-matchy; some objects are pleasantly marked by habit and custom. The pictures on the wall prompt idle curiosity: what mysterious forces lurk behind this vapid still life or that totemic oddity? And then it happens — that unwanted glimpse into personal space.

Dentist develops ecofriendly alternative to mass brands
September 13, 2010
MIAMI, Florida--After conducting nearly a decade of research alongside the International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology, Dr. Bruno Sharp discovered that an excess of fluoride is linked to a range of hazardous health concerns.
Armed with this information, the Miami' prosthodontist and a fourth generation dentist, was determined to develop a natural, nontoxic and healthy alternative to fluoride toothpaste to address the demand for natural oral care products.
Why?
Miami-based dentist Dr. Bruno Sharp has created a safe, earth-approved brushing
alternative for children of all ages.
How?
Dr. Sharp's Strawberry Cream Kids Eco-friendly Toothpaste is consistent with his
philosophy of creating products which are fluoride-free, non toxic, eco-friendly andsafe
to swallow as none of his formulations contain any of the potentially harmful
ingredients most commonly found in traditional brands.
Back-To-School Tips for Safe Brushing & Healthy Teeth August 5, 2010
It is recommended for children to brush their teeth 2 to 3 times a day after meals.
Use a fluoride-free toothpaste that is safe to brush. Children can brush unattended and is even safe to swallow.
According to ADA (American Dental Association) and CDC (Center for Disease Control), more than 33% of American children have some type of dental fluorosis.
Since 1997, FDA mandates that toothpastes that contain fluoride (as an active ingredient) must include a warning label to contact poison control centers in case it is over ingested by children.
Dr. Sharp has developed *Strawberry Cream Kids Natural Fluoride-Free* *Toothpaste* that does not contain any bad chemicals such as Fluoride, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Paraben and Alcohol.
Use a toothbrush designed for children with soft and rounded bristles and a small head to reach back teeth and limited space areas.
Change your kid's toothbrush every 2 months or as soon as bristles are worn out, so they do not harm your kid's gums.
ADA recommends the use of non-fluoridated water for preparation of children's formula due to the risk of fluorosis (toxic contamination with excess of fluoride in the body).
Be wise with your kid's lunch box and meals: avoid sugary (sodas, artificial juices) or starchy (crackers) snacks, since they can increase the risk for cavities. Source: www.fluoridealert.org

Do you? If you do you might not be brushing your teeth the way you should, or should I say...you're not brushing your teeth with a good toothpaste?! I just did a review on a Natural Toothpaste and Natural Mouthwash by Dr Sharp Toothpaste which is much safer not only for your health, but also for the health of our planet!
It's a toothpaste without fluoride (fluoride-free) and it's also alcohol-free, paraben-free, and sodium sulfate-free (SLS-free). If you use conventional toothpaste you might actually be poisoning yourself with fluoride. Fluoride has a 9 out of 10 danger score (high hazard) according to Cosmetics Database and can cause cancer, developmental/reproductive toxidity, in between other things... Good news is that Dr Sharp has come out with a better solution! And they even have a natural toothpaste for kids (strawberry flavor) which, in my opinion are the most important to get them because children are even more susceptible to chemicals. Simply put: it's the best natural toothpaste I've seen.

Dr. Sharp Natural Fluoride-Free Toothpaste & Mouthwash Offers Eco-Friendly Alternative
DR. SHARP'S NATURAL FLUORIDE- FREE ORAL CARE LINE
OFFERS CONSUMERS AN ECO-FRIENDLY ALTERNATIVE
TO THE HARMFUL EFFECTS OF FLUORIDE
Dr. Bruno Sharp, Miami's own Prosthodontist and leading aesthetic dentist, has developed a product line that offers a sophisticated approach to natural oral care providing innovative and proven alternatives to fluoride-based products.
Fluoride is a very controversial thing. To me there is no controversy at all - we don't do fluoride.
Fluoride was first used in a mass water supply ins Germany's Nazi prison camps. The reason for mass-medicating water with sodium fluoride was to force the people in their concentration camps into calm, sheepish submission. Scary & no thanks. This was just something I learned in collage and just looked up and re-read.
We all know about the harsh chemicals in our cleaners, our make up, our foods, but what about our toothpaste. That's right toothpaste. We all have our favorite brand, we use it religiously every morning and night. What are we putting in our mouth? As I write this I go to my bathroom and grab the toothpaste my teenager uses. Guess what the only ingredient listed is "Active Ingredient Sodium Fluoride 0.243%(0.16 w/v fluoride ion), so what else is in it? Obviously there is more to it than just Fluoride. As I research this very popular brand I am having a hard time finding the ingredients anywhere. I went to the manufacturers websites, no luck, so let's talk about what we know is in it.
Fluoride (aka Sodium Fluoride)is found in most toothpaste on your stores shelves. It is suppose to help your teeth right? But could it actually do more harm than good? In 1997 the Food and Drug Administration required that all toothpastes sold in the U.S. carry a label that read "Poison Warning" the warning reads as follows:"WARNING: Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. If you accidentally swallow more than used for brushing, seek professional help or contact a poison control center immediately."

The Earth has its toxins: pollution, landfills, waste, plastic bottles. Every day, there’s some sort of violation that the world goes through, whether its oil refinery spills or noxious gases released into the ether.
Now, imagine if your mouth were to go through a similar assault (and if you eat lots of sweets and sugars, it very well may be going through it, right now!).
But there’s another culprit –fluoride– that previously you may have though as innocent as a rose. But fluoride has been linked to several health problems including dental fluorosis and even cancer.
